I have applied to over 20 different positions and utilized key words of the job descriptions in my resume. I have yet received any scheduled interviews or received information as to the status of my applications. Additionally, I have met people hired into the federal system; however, everyone I met was hired by “Direct Hire Authority”. In other words, they had their resume pulled to the top by someone they knew. I believe USAJOBS is one huge scam to perpetuate the idea of equal and competitive employment within the federal government.
Yes, there are large federal jobs such as the FBI and TSA who have hiring farms; however, jobs that I have applied for are not mass employment. I did not serve 10 years in the military and get a degree to check passengers’ bags at the airport. I respect the people that do that job, but it’s not for me.
I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who got hired off USAJOBS without knowing anyone on the inside?
