In the midst of the night
They crawl, yellow.
In the surges of devastation
They paddle, yellow.
When they're smothered with the ice
When they're caught without their weapons
Like deer in the headlights
Forget dignity, forget pride
The lives they are living are simply lies.

What do you think of this poem?
Thanks

I curious as to what the "they" is.
I love the alliteration in the least line and the riddle- like nature of the poem as a whole is very intriguing. I like it and, yes, I think it is a good poem.

I really think this poem was good. I really enjoyed the last line. And yes living their lives without dignity or pride, they are living their life as a lie considering they are living without two sound and essential forgivings towards living. Very good imagery, could paint a visual depiction in my mind, nice. Keep posting and writing=]

This is a good poem. I like the evocative tingling feelings of being smothered with the ice and caught without their weapons. Aha, their lives are hopeless lies... Good luck to you and God bless.
