I was thinking of writing a book where each chapter is the name of the song and the chapter follows along with what the song entails, following along the characters, plot and such. I was thinking of starting with Don't Stop Believin' by Journey, you know: "Just a small town girl, living in a lonely world - she took the midnight train going anywhere. Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit - he took the midnight train going anywhere."
Basically breaking down each different song for each chapter to fit the plot and characters with each chapter. Is it a good idea? I would use songs from Journey, The Beatles, The Kinks, etc. and even some modern songs too.
