I would say yes because I think the Nets have alot of assets now (picks, young players) that can allow them to get better.
I think it would be a good idea if they could get Carmelo and Billups to come there. Maybe send a first round pick to Memphis to get OJ Mayo to join the party.
Once 2012 season comes, Nets will have a shot at Chris Paul or Deron Williams and will be solid having a corp of Billups (off the bench), Paul or Williams, Melo, Brook Lopez.
Also the last team who maintains Melo before end of season will be the only team who could offer him the most money available since a new CBA is going to result in lower max salaries and years.
