No.

Micheal Jackson was the "King of Pop."
This is a serious matter for the media. It's just going to be a Heath Ledger situation...

It's just going to be on the front cover of many magazines, and within a month, it will be over.

Farrah was also a great american actress.

You have a good point. Any death is tragic, in the sense that a human being lost their life, none more than another. But under the cover of this sadness our congress inflicts a greater one. Many people will die from their feckless indifference to the real cost of government wastage, but they will be poor anonymous nobodies.

NO, they are NOT overreporting! MJ was an ICON...so huge in the 80's and countless singers count him as their inspiration. Same with Fawcett, she was very well known because of Charlies Angels....they were so big in their time...and thats why there is so much coverage. Plus, they passed away today. The coverage will go back to normal in the next few days.....and then we can get back to health care and other big issues.

That depends on how you define over reporting. Since they are for profit organizations they report what they think their viewers want to see, based on lots and lots of studies. So no they aren't but are they reporting to a viewership that is somewhat shallow? Yes they are.
