Do you think the goal of conservative talk radio is to start a civil war?

No. The goal is to educate people about what's really going on.

Almost two million conservatives marched on Washington on 9-11, and there were ZERO arrests. That doesn't sound like the start of a war to me. They were civilized and mature - unlike the liberals who are protesting the G-20.

.

No - it's to keep alive the Constitution that the liberals are trying to bury.

Are you really so afraid of dissenting opinions that you would try to censor them through such tripe? The conservatives have never demonstrated a tendency towards violent actions but the liberals have time and again. Perhaps you are just projecting your violent feelings toward the conservatives?

If a civil war starts it will be because of the left forcing their failed idealism down other people's throats.

NO! Just to keep everyone frightened. Because when we're frightened we can't trust each other. And if we can't trust each other, we can't unite and threaten the strangle hold that the ultra rich ruling class has on us.

Fear! Government by fear. It works!
How do you think the working class allowed our industrial base to be shipped overseas? The working class was distracted by fear.

How do you think Americans allowed Congress to give Bush authority to invade Iraq? Which, by the way, not only violated the US Constitution, it violated international laws prohibiting preemptive wars.

Fear! It's what is gonna cause us, the people, to simply give our sovereignty away.

There isn't anything conservative about "conservative" talk radio. They work for the republican party and the neocons. Nothing conservative about them either.

I thought it was for comedic purposes.

Like have you heard Bill O'Reilly and Barney Frank? It's two grown men acting like two 8 year olds on the playground. high-freakin'larious. Sometimes neither one of them have a valid point. They are just speaking to talk over the other.

I think they are secretly lovers.

The goal of any radio program, any newspaper, any television program is to make money and get ratings.

Those engaged in political commentary (on the left and on the right) make it a point to stir things up. This is how they get publicity.

I mean, seriously - look at all the publicity that Glenn Beck is getting. And not just for him, but for his network. And that is golden to them.

It has nothing to do with morals or ideas. It truly is all about money. Publicity gets money. Controversy gets publicity. There you have it.

Conservative talk radio and Fox News have a definite political agenda but it really does come down to making money for Rupert Murdock, Rush and the rest. If Rush or Beck were losing their corporate backers money their shows would be off the airwaves. Glenn Beck and Rush haven't been reigned in because the wilder they get the more excited that fringe of the GOP gets and that makes money.

Most people I know never turn on the radio any more, we
have TV and the internet for news and the women for
gossip, I only hear libs complaining about radio broadcasts.

no, but i think the adverse reactions to conservative viewpoints could be the catalyst.
the left is inciting violence against anyone who questions this administration.

They do nothing more than to promote stereotyping anyone who opposes them. In their tiny little minds, anyone without health insurance is too lazy to get a job, anyone who supports environmental causes is stupid, anyone who wants more restrictions on Wall Street and Banking is a Communist. People who believe the tripe are generally undereducated and have never left their communities. Their views tend to be based on a very narrow range of experience in the real world.
There is a middle ground that most of us stand on, but we don't make fools of ourselves so we don't get the 15 minutes of fame.

Their goal is to provide the news as they see it to there listeners. They would also like to make money, who doesn't want to earn a profit. Basically they do what every other news source does. How is that starting a civil war? By disagreeing with a half black President conservative radio is starting a war? I think it is the other side that has the attitude problem.

Glenn Beck hasn't been reigned in because it is a free country, whether or not you like what is being said. You are all pissed becase you all called him a raving lunatic and he has been right about Van Jones, and about Acorn. If the right has to listen to the crap from the left, than you can do the same.
