Do you think the building industry in SA has slowed down?

I have noticed on the way to work there about 4 or 5 " housing estates" being built but there has been no work on most of these sites for a few months now. I know the price of houses are ridiculous now, plus the interest rate doesn't help either. But then again, they are building a huge new "industrial' park in our area too and the building there is very busy every day.
So, I was just wondering if anyone knows what is going on.
 
yes i think so too, My friend and her husband have been waiting for their Townhouse to be build since june last year and when they enquire about it they tell them that they will be finished in december 2008, and on top of that the extension side they are going to build they house in they have not yet started and they say on December 2008 they will be finished.
