If the media controls what we hear, then it can shape our opinions. Has the media become a little bit too powerful now? For instance, the evidence for violence on TV affecting behaviour is absolutely massive - but we never hear about it.
The latest expenses scandal is taking more power away from the government and putting it in the hands of the media moguls, the men who have private meetings with every would - be prime minister in the western world.

I don't believe that there is a scandal at all - MPs spent their expenses that they were entitled to (think about it...don't just reply think about it. What would you actually do in their situation?).

The media has turned this into a witch hunt of mammoth proportions, and every second of it stinks to high heaven of something really really sinister, much much worse than a few ministers claiming a poxy few thousand quid.

DISCUSS!!!!!!

It's suddenly become "en vogue" to be against democracy and pro-socialism, like a fashion trend imported from Europe.

There's nothing wrong with either system. Well, actually there's tons of things wrong with both (as with all forms of government).
