Do you think that Obama would crush McCain on a debate?

Obama is such a eloquent speaker.
Mccain has repetitive memory laps.

No. Obama seems to think that blaming republicans makes our problems disappear. Intelligent people can see through that.

I don't know about crush. Obama is clearly the better orator, is more articulate, and generally has a better command of the facts.

However, we can't forget the Kennedy v. Nixon debate. Those who listened on the radio thought Nixon won. Those who watched it on the tube thought Kennedy won. Nobody listens anymore; everybody watches.

And what they will see will be a kindly looking old white guy with a more folksy manner of speaking sparring with a...well, a black guy. I don't think anything Obama could possibly say will sway those who only care about his complexion, and those people are far more numerous than they will admit.

So, no, Obama will probably not crush McCain, simply because in the eyes of far too many, McCain can't lose to a non-white. Obama may "win", but the margins won't be as great as they should be.

I agree with the above- Obama does stutter when he is pressed to say something

Obama is a good speaker. But, he may have a problem when he actually debates the issues with McCain. Obama has been very good a dodging the hard questions and just saying what people want to hear. Debating McCain will show if he really has substance or not.

McCain would forget where he was at and try and order a Big Mac and Fries from Obama, then ask for extra ketchup packets.

even Hillary would and thats not saying much...Old Stain McCain would probably be confused about where he was the whole time

Not necessarily, but we would finally hear a one on one true debate. These little round robins Hillary has insisted on are just silly. Obama and Hillary both represent the Dem platform... what is there to debate, other than who is getting to go first all the time?

Yes, but they'd both be Presidents who would overspend the country into economic collapse.

Obama would just be more 'inspiring' about it.

No question he is smarter.

But he ignores or doesn't see the real problem.

I'd like to see Ron Paul debate Obama.
