Also do you think that peter king can beat caroline kennedy for the senate? I live in New York and it appears that if kennedy gets the senate seat king will smash her in the 2010 election. i'm from long island and pete king wins his elections by a decent amount considering he is a republican. In my opinion kennedy does not have enough exp. to be senator. King has a recognized name in new york. Pattersons approval rating is going to sink as he is raising taxes and increasing spending. He has no tax cuts in his plan.

no,

himself is one of the very few Americans stll think he is a 9/11 hero.

who the F#$$$king care, really???

Exactly 1 yr ago noone could have thought a mysterious man named Barack Obama will pop out of no where beat the inevitable Hillary Clinton for the Presidential nomination
So who knows you can never so sure about the politics its always unpredictable

I am concerned about "An appointee appointing an appointee"

Meaning Patterson picking Kennedy.

If Kennedy is appointed, then two of New York State's Federal representatives, Patterson and Kennedy, will be "appointees" who are running the show; neither of these people were elected and that is the primary cause for concern with me.

As for Patterson, I am not sure if appointee is the exact term, but I mean that he is not an elected Governor.

I would like to know more about New Your State Politics because it plays such a big role on the National level.

I am a Democrat and I do not believe that Caroline Kennedy is an appropriate candidate for the appointment. But, if she does become appointed, then runs and wins she will have won the support of the people.

Not particularly. I think Guiliani has overplayed himself. Its become a little bit of a joke. There's no race for the NY senate seat in 2010. It would be in 2012. Its too early to call that. We don't know if Kennedy will get the appointment and therefore be an incumbent.

I think it depends on the amount of voters favoring Gulliani vs. Patterson but I think once it was revealed that Gulliani walked the streets during 911 cause he was stupid enough to put his command center in the building most likely to go down & it did. Plus, he has some other things against him that republicans claim to be against such as wives he cheating on & kids who don't talk to him. I wouldn't judge him but I am not a republican. As far as Kennedy goes I think once the spotlight is on her & this man I have never heard of people will look at what they have done & as of this moment I know nothing about either one of them except for her name but now I would have to see how well they are able to accomplish things & how they go about it. I don't think I would ever vote a republican though. It is not anyones fault if they have to raise taxes. The bills have to be paid at some point & unless NY wants to end up like CA they better not complain about that. Spending is not the same as wasting, if it is priming the pump it is necessary. Patterson is a dem so he is not going to be giving money to greedy people but to workers so they can circulate the economy so once people wise up to this things will improve.EDIT: I forgot about Gulliani & the community organizer attitude until 'the Mom" here reminded me. He ruined it with that.

I would hope the Republicans could come up with a better candidate than Giuliani. He cheated on his wife, and I still can't forget his smirking and simpering when he made fun of community organizers. Pathetic!

I doubt it especially after the way he used a tragic event like 9/11 for political gain

I can't imagine a reasonable Republican supporting him either

I think he's vile

I'm from NYC, and I honest to God hope Giuliani loses if he runs. He is an awful man. As for Caroline Kennedy, as brilliant as she is, I don't like the idea either that she is not winning her seat in a fair election. She'll easily sweep NYC and likely Long Island too, but she would have her work cut out for her upstate, where King would have an advantage.
