Do you think that, due to the media, our next generation of women are kind of effed?

I'm just curious, because I was talking to my 8-year old cousin yesterday and she burst into tears, saying she was going on a diet because she's fat. And then her friend piped in "I want a boob job like Hannah Montana's!"

Oh my god. Is this just because I live in Orange County or are other little kids having these issues too? Are we all effed?
 
Not all children are like your cousin or her friend. It's their age as well as what they are exposed to in childhood.

I know children that age who are not like that. Depends where you live and what values are emphasized. Children have to be taught to think and question and decide for themselves.

Past time to get these two a few good female role models...but it really depends upon the parents and what they are teaching there kids to value in themselves.

But it orange county is anything like san diego county...ya there will be more there..but hardly exclusive.
