It has been my observation that people as a rule feel pretty dis-empowered these days and are "chomping-at-the-bit" for a chance... any chance.. to be heard and express their opinions. Sadly, and I'm as guilty as anyone, sometimes it ends up in a 'rant' as some folks have a lot of pent up angst about certain things. But the good thing is that it gives folks a forum to express, and for those who wish, a field for debate or point/counter-point. "Trolling" and mindless questions/replies are just a necessary side effect of this forum... Stupid people exist in mass and it's their means of expression even if it is to disrupt and detract. I wish it were not so, but it is.
It is irrelevant what YA! intended as things take on their own 'lives' once they are 'released' and it becomes the responsibility of the members to regulate and monitor behavior. Report abuses... call out 'trolls'... ignore stupid replies and questions... but don't hinder debate. We learn and clarify our positions on things via defending our stance on a subject... if you can't defend your position on a subject maybe you should quit proclaiming it to the world at large.
Anyway... that's MY opinion... thank you for letting me share it.
