I Need a Cell Phone
Over and over, I think to myself, why don’t I have a cell phone yet? I am a responsible freshman student who gets acceptable grades and takes part in many extra curricular activities. These days, it’s unheard of to be without a cell phone; almost everyone has one, especially for texting. I understand that there would be an additional cell phone bill, but I promise it would be worth it. Just imagine, if I had a cell phone, you could reach me at anytime. A cell phone would be convenient for us both.
First off, I’m fed up with being left out repeatedly. These days, texting is a major method of communication. Without a phone, I feel less social. Usually, I have no idea when parties, sporting events, and other activities take place because no one can reach me. I understand many adults don’t agree with texting, but technology isn’t going to change for them. They just need to learn how to make use of it.
Borrowing cell phones from others is extremely irritating. After band and sporting events, it would be tremendous to pull out my own cell phone and call for a ride home. Instead, I have to scurry around and locate someone else with one; that become a hassle. For example, one night after band rehearsal, I waited longer than usual for my ride. Eventually, I became curious why I wasn’t getting picked up. I was the only one waiting; all the other kids were probably at home enjoying there delicious meals. If I had a cell phone, I could’ve called my dad to inform him that I needed a ride home. Unfortunately, I didn’t have one. I wandered around the high school until I found a teacher, and I used his phone. That night would have been a lot less hectic if I had my own cell phone.
Why on earth would you want me off on my own without a phone? I am a very active girl and I do several things outside of school: shopping, football games, movies, bonfires, and much more. I would never be able to get reached. I’m sure you would want a way to contact me if there was an emergency. If I had a phone, that would be possible.
As you can see there are numerous reasons why I need a cell phone. It would help me stay in touch with friends, call for rides after extra curricular activities, and you would always be able to contact me.
