Do you think it's wrong for guys to "use" their female friends as bait or social proof?

to pick up other women? Basically "manipulating" these other women by a) appealing to their competitive natures to "out-do" the (unbeknownst) female friends and b) putting them at ease i.e. he can't be too bad a guy/an axe murderer if he's hanging out with other women!
****Uncle - no what you describe is FAR worse....that is very active and direct dishonesty/stealing vs. let another's imagination run wild
