Do you think it's possible to support troops in Iraq, but not support their mission?

Regardless of whether we were justified in the Iraqi invasion, to pull out now would be catastrophic. The country would ERUPT in street violence and civil war. Our legacy would have been the nation that pre-emptively invaded and laid to waste an entire country and just walked away. We don't need that on our resume. That's not the kind of America I could be proud of.

what? that doesn't make sense. You're again tying money to protect the troops to the money for the mission. You haven't dealt with that either.

As you have not commented upon my point that you can support the troops without supporting the mission, even if you must vote for money that includes both, you therefore either do not wish to address it, or concede it. Also, you did not address the legislative process and how voting does not mean you support everything or are aganist everything in the bill.

It doesn't work because you say so. The example of McCain refutes such a claim.
