skater or anything) outdoors? I'm not on any team or anything I just go to public skate every once in a while at the local rink and I own a pair of $20 figure skates. Do you think it would hurt them to take them to an outdoor rink. I'm sorry if this seems like a dumb question. I'm new to the world of ice skating lol.
 
If you had super expensive figure skates then I would say no. Never go public skating with a good pair of skates indoor or out. But since you only use your skates for the purpose of public skating I think you should be okay. Just check over the outdoor rink before you skate. If it looks dirty, not taken care of or dangerous then don't. Not only for your skates but also for our own safety. If it is a city owned or your own personal outdoor rink I think you will be good. Outdoor rinks are a lot of fun, especially when they are welll taken care of.
 
Don't ever, EVER use figure skates out doors! If you do you will need to have your skates re-sharpened, but it is possible that it could ruin the blade! If the ice at the rink is "zammed" then it is fine but make sure u dry off ur blade after and get your skates out of the cold immedietly and let your skates dry out like on a table in a place that is room temp.
 
With $20 skates i'd say go for it - why not? I've taken mine to a public rink and they were fine - you're blades just get blunt more quickly
