Do you think I'll qualify for a dependency override for financial aid?

My mother, who was my custodial parent, died when I was 14. My father took me in for a few years, but decided he didn't want to deal with me and gave legal custody to my brother when I was 17.
I'm trying to file for a dependency override, because my previous relationship with my father was abusive, and now I have no contact with him. I have two signed statements by each of my brothers, and a copy of my brother claiming me for his taxes. They each signed a statement of previous abuse by my father.
What do you think my chances of getting an override are?
I would like to point out that my father was well aware that the conditions I lived in with my mother were dangerous, and he did nothing to help me, refusing to pay child support to her, also. She died of alcohol intoxication following asphyxia.
Thanks ahead of time.
A) My brother claimed me the year I graduated from high school, in 2004. He has not claimed me since then, and it is now 2009.
B) According to the FAFSA, IRS dependency and financial aid dependency are two separate issues. In fact, the age of independence for FAFSA is 24, and the age of independence for taxes is 18, unless you are in school full-time. You can be claimed as a dependent on taxes while achieving independent status for FAFSA. You can also be married and achieve independence for financial aid, while still being claimed as a dependent for tax purposes.
So, I only included the tax information to show, at the time of my high school graduation, my brother was my sole financial provider.
Also, I have already filed my FAFSA, and spoken with financial aid. They have received my dependency packet, and now I'm waiting a result. I'm just wondering how likely it is to get approved.
