Do you think I'll get anywhere in writing poetry *10 points*?

I love you, and I shouldn't
When I saw you with her, I about cried
I tried letting go, but I couldn't
Without you, I'd be dead inside
You won't tell me if you still care
I spend many sleepless nights trying to figure out if you do
It just isn't fair
You're messing with my head, and I continue to let you
I can't wait to see you again
You've been an a** to me
But then you defended me, and I thought you cared then
I miss being your girl, I think about you continuously
I can't stand seeing you kiss and hold her
It takes all my strength to fake a smile
When I see you with her I remember what we once were
I love it when you talk to me every once in a while
I'd do anything for you, anything at all
I hope she knows how lucky she is to have you
After I see you two together, I come home and bawl
I tried being with him, but that's one thing I can't do
I can't pretend to be over you when I'm not
You're the only one who can make me cry
I love you more than I first thought
And I can honestly say I don't know why
If you're happy in her arms, then that's where I want you to be
Just know I'll always be here for you
From my feelings for you, I wish I could flee
But the truth is I've always loved you and I still do
 
You should read other poets and philosophy if you want to refine your style and sophistication (not that I'm some expert).

I had never encountered anything before it the first time I read Kerouac and Ginsberg, and they opened my eyes to the whole world of poetry, from Shelley to Whitman to Corso. If you read them and take in their ideas, you'll slowly see your poetry take on a whole new level of meaning and quality, and your word choice, which can take mundane ideas and turn them into beauty, will vastly improve.

Not that it's bad by any means at all! It's just if you want to 'get by,' which was nearly impossible for even the greatest poets who ever lived, you'll want to write something more distinctly your own.
