Do you think Elliot Stabler's become more violent and warlike as the show progressed?

If so, is it because he feels the constant need to support and babysit Olivia his partner? I think he might be getting tired of the war against criminals he's fighting in, and I'll bet having to protect Olivia because of her lack of defensive capability might be starting to get to him and drive him to go berserk and start a personal war of his own.
 
I dont think, I think he is in love with her and is afraid to be with her that is why his rage is so strong. He doesnt babysit her she is one tough ass chick. I have watched all the seasons and if you pay attention they love one another. She has how many times saved his butt!
