Do you think discussing politics is similar to discussing religion?

It should be banned ? heh kidding.

But when it comes to politics people get SO into it and get really nasty as well.
Here in australia we don't get as into it as you guys do.

I actually think both topics are extremely similair. When someone beleives strongly in one, conversations can get pretty tense. =)

Yup - I mean the similarity, not the banning of open debate.

But people feel very strongly for their own side in either case, and usually presenting facts that contradict the other side are ignored or excused. Works both ways.

ya i do,
politics is like a religion kinda,
if im jewish i'm protective over that just as protective as i get about the green party.
political parties are your beleifs somewhat.
its waht you think is right

politics and religion are the two most controversial topics. Neither should be banned what should be banned is the people that cannot respect other peoples opinions and get nasty

yes. for some reason those two topics can rub people the wrong way. two very touchy subjects because everyone is sooo sure there right.

It depends where you are. If you are in public around a lot of different people that you can tell probably think differently then you shouldnt discuss politics nor religion. If you are in a more contained environment, like your house or with a small group of people you know, then talk about whatever you want just as long it doesnt stir up trouble.

Yes you are so totally right -- it's not worth it. I worked with this woman who, anytime ANYONE said they were not a Republican, she got so mad she turned red from the chest and told people how STUPID THEY WERE. That's just ONE person.

on most issues, when it all comes down to raw decision, it is usually based upon religious views.

Yes...they both take some believing.

And if the truth were realised......we have little control with it.

They are both platforms of power that have slept in the same bed for mutual satisfaction.
