Do you think believing and/or following ritual purity laws make people bigoted?

I've noticed this with several religions and various ethnic groups. Some people seem to think that by a group following purity laws, either religious or not, that they are automatically condemning those who do not. Sure, some people may be, but I'm talking about the majority of them.

usually they don't expect or want people to follow them if they are not of that religion if they are religious based, and if it is ethnically based, all one would have to do to become pure would be to follow the purity laws, regardless of ethnicity.

Do you think ritual purity laws make people bigoted toward those who do not follow them, whether they be for religious reasons or others?
