There is a spending cap on football, basketball and hockey why not baseball. I think it would only be fair. I think it would make it a lot more interesting if baseball had a cap too

What do you think??
 
I thought there is a salary cap in baseball. I remember hearing in the radio that the yankees and I think 2 other teams had to pay some kind of tax (i think it's called a luxury tax....I'm not 100%sure) for going over the salary cap. If i could recall, it was somewhere in the millions of dollars range.

I think the rule is that if a team goes over the salary cap, they would have to pay a tax or in other words a fine. That money is then evenly distributed among all the other teams in MLB to spend.
 
no,the yankees will never win again,they only won when george s. was suspended in the 90's!
 
well when fans stop going to games because the ticket prices are to high ,, the owners might get the hint .... i hope..
i would rather go to a minor league game where i can take my niece and not spend over $50 instead of $300 or more
 
We haven't had a salary cap question in almost ten minutes now. Thanks. We need at least 400 of these a day in here.
 
Salary Cap is definitely needed. There should also be some kind of a ticket price cap, too.

So, I'm a dreamer.
 
I used to think so but a lot of teams have managed to be successfull with small payrolls. Like the Rays, the Rockies, the Phillies. If the owners want to over pay, I say, let them. It seems like once the superstars get the big paychecks, their play suffers anyway.

no there is no hard salary cap...the luxury tax is just a deterrent that doenst deter anything
