Well im 16 going 17 and im going to be a senior
i've been taking art classes for a long time, but it just feels like a drag to me. I dont feel like doing it. Whenever its art time i dont want to go. I feel like im wasting my time and that art isnt going to be a good future career choice. I mean i have that artist views on things and i have skill. I mean im asian and unlike other people i had a little more of a advantage when it came to drawing. I was naturally good at drawing, but i mean i cant be as good as people who have been doing it for 25 years of course i've been practicing.

I mean art is physically demanding you have to live your life sitting in a chair hunched over painting or drawing or scuplting or w.e. And since i have to make a portfollio which has to consist of different things i do not want to do.

I mean i like drawing and art as a hobby. But i think making this as a career path or something just doesnt seem right to me. I mean everybody who does art that is a male, is usually gay or wierd. Some gameing f@ggot or something. Even tho they are so into art i can still whop there ass in whatever medium they are using.

So i dont know what to do. All my life i never knew what to do or what i wanted to be. I still dont know but art seems like bs to me. Im good at it. But it just feels so stupid as a career. Like what am i going to do to be rich? Draw and then when i die everything is woth 1 million dollars, and those weridos in the museium all drew something when they were on shrooms and then they died then werid artistic people said it was art. Like a stupid bike wheel on a stool and now its like 45 billion dollars. WTF? somebody shoot the man who said it was art. I know i cant base my life on money but i still have to make money to live in this bs world. Even if do well in school wtf am i going to do. Idk what i want to be. volunteering or not, volunteering is bs anyways what does that teach me? What can a high schooler do to learn a future career job. Get a man coffee and dig a tree?

So i mean idk if you guys can try and reinforce something and make me think art is a path worth following try me.
lol
i dont mean werid artists in history
but i mean now.

Art is a great calling. Whether one gets paid for it or not, it is worthwhile. It is an end in itself. Just because one begins at drawing doesn't mean that one ends up there. Winston Churchill was as regular painter. You never know where it will take you.

But that doesn't mean that you have to do it regularly or consistently. You can put it down and pick it up again. You can switch from drawing to painting to something else. People grow and mature and change. At 40, I enjoy opera. At 30 I couldn't care less about it.

If you feel drawn to it, do it. If you feel drawn to it but bored, try something else, a different style or materials. A computer instead of chalk.

As for only weirdos being artists, that is clearly not the case. There are great Asian artistic traditions -- Chinese and Japanese emperors for instance.
