health care reform debate? I just heard the most disturbing news tonight at work. I work in the health care field and a black women friend of mine stated that she met with a bunch of her male friends over the weekend who stated that if this health care reform bill is not passed they will start shooting whites in the streets? She went on to say that they are bragging about how many illegal firearms they are buying. They went on to say that if whites are going to carry guns on the streets then so will they. I feel the media is to blame for this. It is not uncommon to see people carry a firearm in certain states (AZ, NM, TX, UT, CO, ID, WY, MT and a few other Im sure I've missed), it is just a normalcy. Yet, I live in a state that we have much stricter gun laws so you do not see anyone carry a firearm, yet are crime is far more significant than where I have lived in the past. Anyways, is this what others are hearing too? I thought Obama wanted to Unite this Nation? It seems to me that hatred is culminating and at what point is it going to blow? Will it blow? What are your thoughts on this?
Don't call me a hate monger. I do not lie and this is very real, and very scary to say the least. I simply wanted feed back to see if others are hearing this kind of stuff. Calling me names does not change the fact that I was told this and she was very upset herself and scared. Color means nothing to me I have friends of many nationalities and cultures and this is not something I want to happen to anyone.
