system is the best? Now I've been to Southern China and New York, let me tell you from experience.
You can walk down any road alone even at 3am in the morning, man or woman in China, its pretty safe and its crime rate is much lower than the US too.
 
Your premise is flawed. While it is true that often, common criminal activity is low in authoritarian countries, the crimes committed by the Government are astronomically greater. Look at all the killing Mao did as well as the Tienanmen Square massacre.

Only totalitarian governments get away with crime on that scale.

Most of our crime is due to drugs. With the rise of the drug culture came the rise of crime, both violent and other. The only way to do away with the drug culture is to not tolerate it. Call the druggies what they are. They are destroying our country and the corruption within our law enforcement allows it to continue. We as citizens should demand that all corruption within our government be erradicated. We are far too tolerant of it.
 
Because they will be beaten, imprisoned or killed if they disobey. Tyrants have efficient methods to make people behave. If someone commits a crime in this country, we try to make the punishment fit the crime, but in countries like China, the punishments far surpass the crimes and I bet the court system is a hoot too. I know sometime it really stinks in this country because humans make errors, and some are just mean, but it's not a policy like it is in China. In Singapore, a fairly decent country, folks get caned for chewing gum. Gum is illegal there.

The difference is law enforcement, not political system. Do you what the type of state that China has? Do you remember Tienanmen Square?
 
Of course the crime rate is lower in China. The state has unbound power. You can sue the cops in the USA. China? Not so much.
