Do you think adultery should be against the law?

There are many of the "commandments" that are against the law (killing, stealing etc.) What would you think if adultery were against the law? What do you think would happen if it was? Would it reduce marriage rates? Would it increase divorce? Would it increase abortions? Do you think people would be more failthful? What do you think would be a fitting punishment?
