Do you think 13 year olds should be having sex if they're ready?

I know it sounds like a bit of a stupid question but if they're ready, shouldn't it be ok?
I'm 13 and I've been with my boyfriend (who's also 13) for a year and a bit and we've talked about it and we're both ready.
I asked my older sister (who's 18) what she thought and she told me to stop being a silly little girl and I'm obviously not ready for sex.
My other sister (who's 16) got pregnant and had a baby at 14 but I know I'm not stupid enough to let myself get pregnant.
I know my boyfriend loves me and is not going to leave me.
If a 13 year old is 100% ready for everything, don't you think they should be able to have sex?
 
If you were ready you wouldn't need to ask this question.
Should you be able to have sex? Yes.
However, before you have sex it may be a great idea to go on birth control and buy a pack of condoms.
Talk to your parents about it, aswell.

You should have knnown people on here would say you were too young because most people are oblivious to how much that helps. Your still going to do it, and you should at least be protected.
 
omg. theres no sure way to have sex and not get pregnant. honemstly condoms break, things happen. so no i dont think so. its kind of sad actually. a relationship doesnt need sex to last. dont be a ho.
 
even if your ready or not, both of you shouldn't do it!

That is something that really frightens me that girls think they can not get pregnant if protection is used.

That is a statement that shows you are not ready for sex.

Birth control? Awesome.
Condoms? Cool.
Birth control and condoms? Great.

Pregnancy? Happens even when all that is used!

You can not be 100% ready for sex if you are not ready for the aftermath of it. Yearly pap exams, cost of birth control and medical updates, pregnancy risks, std' risks (yeah, like every 13 year old has stayed with their bf til adulthood? show me at least one!).

You clearly did not learn from your sister's mistakes. So in that, you will have to learn from your own if you refuse to listen to other people who have been there, done that and is telling you, it is not worth the risk right now.
 
A year isn't long at all, especially when you're only 13. You're a child, in all honesty.

"im not stupid enough to let myself get pregnant"... hahaha birth control and condoms fail, so that statement just made you seem very ignorant. I don't think you should have sex, you don't sound ready at all.

But if you do, get on birth control and buy condoms.
 
The problem is that you think you're ready for sex, but you really totally aren't. It'll seem great for now - possibly for a little bit later - but you won't understand how deep an emotional thing it is until much, much later in life. You're not ready for sex. No 13 year old is ready for sex, even if they think they are. If you are actually going to read these answers - which I hope you are - and take them into account, you'll just wait.

And while you think you're not "stupid enough" to get yourself pregnant, d'you really think that the condom is 100% effective? Because if you do, you'd better take a whole 'nother step back, because it's not. And, at 13, your boyfriend probably doesn't know how to put it on right, either.

13 year olds having sex is ridiculous, for everyone else who might read this. Wait, girlie, please. You'll thank us years from now.
 
I know you are going to do what you want in the end so I'm not going to sit here and tell you how you're too young and you really should wait. That is what I think though.

I just want you to know that if you have sex you CAN get pregnant. It doesn't matter how much protection you use there is ALWAYS a chance. I was on birth control and took is just as directed. We also were using condoms and still I got pregnant. Things happen. You really need to wait to have sex until you are old enough and responsible enough to handle any of the consequences that may come your way. If you are really old enough to have sex then you will understand that.
 
NO!!!!! You are still a baby! Go and play with your friends at the mall and enjoy being young. Any boy who would be willing to do so at 13 isn't worth it!
 
No 13 year old should be having sex and what makes you think your boyfriend won't leave you forever is a long time at your age accidents do happen and you could become pregnant.Now I know your feeling ready but please wait the longer you wait the better it will be.
