Do you still doubt or deny that Britain is a police state?

The arrest of a tory MP and the police raid on his offices in the Palace of Westminister is the most sinister event that I can recall in my lifetime.
This is a gross contempt of parliament and anyone who values our democratic values should demand the resignation of the police chief responsible, and that of our unelected Prime Minister and Home Secretary.
 
It's the New Labour way of ensuring that only their "message" is heard !
It worked in good old "socialist" russia, so why not try it here they say !
 
I'm still not clear why Damian Green was arrested and then released.

But surely the public outcry and the support offered Mr Green have made the authorities look very silly, and shown we are a long way from becoming a police state.

In a police state, he wouldn't have been released, we wouldn't be commenting about it, the media wouldn't have turned on the police and whoever is behind this.
 
Recent events seem to re-enforce that belief. It is yet another example of laws being used to suit the government or council of the day.
 
If it was anything they thought they could get away with, he would have been done under the Official Secrets Act instead of the pettifogging excuse for which he was arrested
