Do you run your Wii vertical or horizontal, and how hot is it while off?

Vertical, pretty not hot
Wiiconnect24 on and it's been on with Zelda playing for like 14 hours now.

Ok, here is the thing Dr.

When WiiConnect24 Is on, it heats up because the fans don't run, but it is still using its network adapter, and parts of the mainboard. If WiiConnect24 is off, it stays cold.

Mine gets really warm when connect24 is on. But seeing as I don't use it I turned it off and now it seems to be normal room temp

it's not warm though, it gets HOT

and i'm pretty sure the fans go on (albeit not at the same speed as when the wii is on) during standby mode

From what I understand, the fans don't turn on. And yes, mine got very hot too with connect24 turned on. If you're concerned about heat issues just turn off connect24 and place your Wii vertical. Problem solved.

how many times are we going to see this thread. obviously all the heat is generated on the left side of the console when it is in its little stand. so when you flip to to sit horiztonally, the hot side is now on the bottom, thus no way for the heat to escape without a fan.

I have it horizontal on top of my 360

Vertical, mine is only very slightly warm to the touch, and only on one side. The other side is room temp.
