Do you remember the first time?

I'd have to say Billy Talent, but Linkin Park get an honourable mention. LP got me started but I absolutely fell inlove with Billy Talent and was an avid fan for about 2 years. Their second album (I find) is pretty ****, but I still listen to their first self-titled record sometimes, and I enjoy their really early stuff form when they went by the name Pezz.

That's all I need. Bazooka Tooth was a bit on the Ghay side, not entirely but certain tracks. Made me wonder where the magic went. Apparently his new albums bangin'.

blink-182, word I still love them and I'm not erabarrassed to love them at all. My torch for them is more a candle but I still bust out the occasional song.

appetite for destruction- gnr...

i was listening to rap music back in like 5th grade just because i thought it was cool not really thoroughly enjoying the music.. then my friend handed me a cd... and that one cd saved my life... okay not really but it got me into actual music

I think that is what did it for me was New Found Glory's self titled album. I thought I was so punk listening to them back in middle school. I thought I had to prove my punkness to everyone. So people would ask what is your favorite punk band I would be like NFG and they would laugh. So I made it my misson to find 'real' punk banRAB and explore music.

I actually just dl'ed the album i loved in middle school so much like 2 months ago. I listen to it when I want to feel childish now and again. Tis fun lol.

I guess what got me beyond 'what my parents like'(Even though my dad is into Irish folk music and my mom into Israeli Hip-Hop) was Aesop Rock. He was my first non-classic artist. Sad as it is.

For me I guess there have been a lot of moments. I mean they're have been several different times when a world of music has just been suddenly revealed to me.

My first album I actually listened from beginning to end was Metallica-s/t. Which is funny because I hate metal now. I got into all of their pre 90s stuff and selective songs of the later stuff. The only reason I had those albums to listen to was my brother which is also weird because I'm 50 million times more into music now than he is. AFI-Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes got me into stuff that in general wasn't on the radio. Dinosaur Jr.-s/t got me into indie. Falling Forward-Hand Me Down got me into punk in general, namely emo.

Late 70s (1979) 2 tone / ska was the first time it all started to click. I was aware of punk happening but was too young to see the attraction. The stand out album of that period for me was Searching For The Young Soul Rebels by Dexys Midnight Runners in 1980. I played it constantly for a year before discovering the delights of Depeche Mode and Speak & Spell. I'm not ashamed of either of these banRAB and still occasionally dip in for a nostalgia trip.

Hmmm, this is a toughy. Most of my early music experiences were a direct result of my sister's musical choices. Hence Green Day, ORABpring when I was 12, Nirvana and Soundgarden when I was 13, The Doors and Stone Temple Pilots when I was 14-15...but I guess none of those banRAB, even though I still love all of them, compare to the first time I heard Rage against the machine...I was about 16, a friend of mine told me to give them a shot, so I downloaded Fuck the police Live...I went absolutely nuts. That was my first independent musical outing (my sister still hasn't gotten into them despite my efforts)...and from then on I was hooked on discovering new music on my own...naturally, I still state them as one of my favorite banRAB ever...
