Ok, so I have a 13 year old daughter who's a bit on the chubby side, now, most of the time I find myself begging her to go jogging with me and she always comes up with an excuse for not going. Now, the other day, she asked me to buy her a Wii with Wii fiit or whatnot to "workout" I was like, what the hell?? Now I gotta PAY like $300 bucks so my kids do some exercise and they STAY AT HOME?? Are these the times that we are living??
Seriously, I've been exercising for like 20 years, I even have a treadmill at home (though I prefer the open) and I'm on a decent shape, my daughter isn't even into gaming! I also have an 11 year-old son who IS actually into gaming, but he loves playing soccer (outside) as much as he enjoys playing God of War, so is the "exercise with game consoles" REALLY that necessary to get our kids off their butts?
to ilubcaek: well, though I consider myself a bit of a strict mom, I prefer that my children choose what extra-scholar activities they do, my son has been obsessed with soccer ever since he learned to walk, my daughter, well, she's more on the "artsy" side, God bless her and she knows I love her, but she's the kind of "weirdo" in the family, she's devoted more into painting, something in which she's very skilled and I'm so proud of, but she just HATES physical activities, every evening I ask her "come on, let's go jog a bit, an hour, half hour" but no success whatsoever, I've also tried to help her a bit with her diet, 'cause she keeps eating almost a whole box of tofu everyday! I've told her that as much as healthy tofu is, anything can be bad in an excess, but she just won't listen
