Do you prefer downloading over buying? Why

I realize that, but if the $10 one was in a cool bottle while the free one was in red plastic glasses I would probably buy the $10 one...
 
There are 3 types of albums that I download rather than buy.....

Albums I wouldn't have bought anyway that i'm only listening to out of curiosity.... Therefore artist doesn't lose any money because I wouldn't have bought it anyway

Albums that are long since deleted that you can only buy for silly money on Ebay....Therefore artist doesn't lose any money because I can't get it anywhere anyway.

Bootlegs of live albums or unreleased material or radio sessions ... Albums that if I bought somewhere the artist wouldn't make any money from because they're made by bootleggers.

So in short nobody loses any money when I download.
 
Sorry, I just have no sympathy for the millionare rockstars who's albums I illegally download. I buy my indie by the way, if only because there's no place to download it online.
 
^ depenRAB on what kind of music your buying. mainstream is still 15-20 bucks, its the small labels that release cheaper stuff.

i prefer downloading, not because i don't want to support the artist but i cant afford to drop $5-10k a year on music cRAB. i prefer to blow my money going to see them at their live shows.

downloading is convenient, since im mostly at the computer when i listen to music, but my car wont play burned cRAB so i buy what i cant live without for when im in the car.
 
when i download music i use itunes (unless the band/musician has given persmission to download songs elsewhere).

but i buy CRAB unless i only like one or two songs off of the album or something.
 
I've never seen a CD in fye (with the exception of the 9.99 bins) under 15 dollars, I havn't been in there two months but still and the average price two months ago was between 16.99 and 19.99.

The RIAA also brings lawsuits against children, some as young as 12.[22]
