Do you prefer downloading over buying? Why

Yeah I still don't see why it's stupid. People also buy CRAB for you know, the actual CRAB, the cover art and so on.
 
For me it's not even an issue.


most of the band that i listen to nowadays are defunct, and have been so for large perioRAB of time,
so i don't have access to them to buy their cd's
my only option is to d/l them from somewhere.
 
Jesus christ, they're multi-millionaires now, but even when they were nobodies they made plenty of money and just blew it on drugs. But that's not the point. Here's LesPaul43 quote:

Although I download a lot, if there's an album I like I'll go out and buy it becuase I think having a CD collection is important and a lot more personal. Plus I like the artwork lulz.

That is true, banRAB get about 20% of the money they make from touring. So each band meraber actually see's very little. The reason banRAB usually tour s to become more widely known.
 
My post that was quoted earlier was about banRAB on independent labels.. it doesn't really apply to RHCP. I HATE downloaRAB and people that don't buy CRAB.. but i have no sympathy for major labels... However if all this 'not wanting to support the majors' crap is just a coverup for 'im too cheap and lazy' then you really cant call yourself a music supporter.


The industry is turning to **** though, so it probably wont make much difference either way.
