AIG and GM is a BUY.. The government has already made it clear that these Companies will not be allowed to fail. Look, if GM or AIG fails - and the government lets them.. Do you know what that will do to confidence in the dollar and in America? Governement would never let that happen on principle alone.... HELLOOOO! FUGGGING IDIOTS! COmmetns

never waste a good crisis , this whole economic mess may be nothing more than an underhanded way to federalize banks and the auto industry, I wonder whats next utilities?

Chevrolet, Cadillac, Pontiac, Buick were all private companies, before they all came under GM. Break them up, sell them off. Let them sink or swim on their own as separate companies. .

AIG is insuring as much or more international business, as American. If the implications of failure are that dramatic, where are the homeland governments of these foreign businesses? Why aren't they pitching in?

Errrr.....

Then why is no one buying?????

Say, I have a bridge you might be interested in.....

I'll make you a bet: GM will be allowed to fail.

GM is in a terrible fix. They have two workers getting pensions for every active worker. Their costs are way, way higher than a competitor like Toyota. They lose over $1,500 for every car they sell while Toyota earns about the same amount every time they sell a car.

Get the picture?

GM has onerous union obligations, and employees making six figures. They are not viable in the long run.

So AIG? Hmm... probably will get bailed out indefinitely. GM? Nope, it's going into bankrupcy, and will emerge as a smaller but competitive company.
