Do you need to have good bicycle balance to ride a Vespa?

And yes, a Vespa Vespa, a GTV 250. I'm okay with riding a bicycle, not totally comfortable riding it on streets and such. But how is riding a Vespa? Describe balance and so on, please.
[They ARE scooters, right? Not mopeds?]

vespa's are scooters. there is no comparison between a bicycle and a scooter. make sure someone shows you how to ride one. to ride a 250 you will need a motorcycle permit, full insurance and registration. just because its a scooter does not mean its a toy. they are actually quit expensive and a crash even at 10mph will mess up your bike and maby you.

I wouldn't get on a motorbike of any kind until I could already ride a bicycle. The balance works the same, but it's different.

A motor scooter has more stability than a bicycle, its not as wobbly or critical to balance. Plus a Vespa has a lower center of gravity, which also helps. So if you already can ride a bicycle, if you understand how the balance works, how to steer, etc., you won't have any trouble at all.

Plus Vespas and other scooters have automatic transmissions, so you don't have to learn how to use clutch and gearshift. You just turn the handle and it goes. It's designed to be really easy, and it is! Also a lot of fun!

If you've never been on a bicycle, trying to ride a motorbike will have a steep learning curve! 8^)

Vespa's are cool, and pretty damn fast for scooters! You need some balance, but they are really light and you will be fine riding one, and the tires are a bit more thick than a bicycle so you will ride it with ease.
