Do you need bell phone service to order PPV?

When i try to get TIFF, it orders it like a PPV even though its free. It says i have to put in a telephone line to order but i have rogers home phone, does it matter which service you have?
 
Did you give a number associated with the account? I think its just so you don't order a pizza for your neighbour.

I wonder why they did the TIFF channels like this....?

To monitor the number of people taking them perhaps.?
 
You might have a problem with Roger's phone.. I don't think you can dial a cable phone setup like you can a regular 'twisted pair' phone... But I don't know for sure, I live in the country and can't get cable (which is why I have ExpressVu).

If your Roger's phone box has a standard phone jack input that will accept standard pulse or tone dialing, and provides the standard dial tone, then it should work OK.
 
Sorry I misunderstood I thought they asked you for your phone #. I don't have a phone connected to my receiver. I no there is a different pulse or touch tone switch but I don't know if you can only connect the receiver to a Bell Canada subscribed line.
Hook up Rogers jj let's find out or can you plug your Rogers line in?
 
You can also place your order on line on the Bell site, throught our Emily PPV system on the phone or you can call in an agent to place your order

No matter which compagny you have for the phone your PPV order will go throught if receiver is connected to an oprationnal telephone line.

There is no Bell linesout West and clients are ordering PPV thought the receiver
 
No if's expressvu states rule # 689089563423578900-1 That you must have a telephone line connected to your receiver. Its on your contract.
 
I can get the TIFF channels without the 0.00 PPV so I wonder if it's a bug. I get the NFL Sunday Ticket every year and just today the games came up. I tried to set up the record in advance for the Pittsburgh-Cleveland game and it gave me the 0.00 PPV request.

Anyone else seeing this? This would be a huge pain to request every game I just want to switch to for a second.

Do you tell them what your telephone number is? Does a Rogers phone use the same plug so you could install to a expressvu receiver?
 
All rogers does is install a box in your basement that connects to Rogers Coax and your internal home phone wiring... so yes the ExpressVu receiver still connected to the same jack... the jacks wires in the basement would be connected to the Rogers Home Phone box... maybe they forgot to connect this jack?
 
HD thanks for the rogers info. Looks like they might of been a little slow getting the channel on, The order screen has now gone.
