do you need a license to ride a pocket bike in missouri if under 50cc?

I am wanting to buy a pocket bike (mini bike) and i was wondering if they are street legal,if you need a license and if you needed signal lights.The bike will be under 50CC and i will be wearing a helmet.i will only be riding it on back roads to school,work etc.I live in overland county in st.louis MO.

First They are not street legal, depending on the police where you are you may be able to mess around on back roads.

Under 50 CC means doesnt need tags and if the rims are smaller then 10 inches you dont need a license either. I did lots of research for my younger brother. We had to have smaller wheels for it to be legal for him.
 
pocket bikes arent usually street legal like at all...
but if your going to ride anything on the street, that has license plates then you do need a license..
