Do you need a 2 year degree to transfer to a 4 year university?

I plan on transferring from Palomar Community College to San Fransisco State. I can get all my credits in by Spring '11 by staying full time every semester up till then but here's what I just found out from my mom. She said you NEED a 2 year degree to transfer which you can't get with Math 100 and I got tested into Math 10. I can get up to 100 by Spring 11 though, and it says on this blue sheet that I can use Math 100....I'd get an appointment with a counselor but they're all booked until Oct 15 because of dropping classes and the like...I just want to understand what's going on here, I want my semesters to be PLANNED so I don't have to stress out about making sure I can transfer on time to move with my friend. =/
I've looked at Assist before but I don't understand ANYTHING it says. I've just recently started to go to college and I've never planned for it before because my parents never pushed me until my LAST YEAR in high school...

So I'm clueless.

I want to go to SFSU too and am going to Fresno City.
And boy let me tell ya, that site has helped me a lot!
