I guess I like many of the Bond movies, they fit into the genre I call special effect movies.
I watch them really just for those, the plot and acting are very much secondary.
I also crack up when they come out with some of the names for the bond girls.
Plenty O Tool and Pussy Galore being two of the best they came up with.
They must have exausted the bond novels by now including the short stories, although I dont think they have used the unfinished novel Col Sun as yet.
I liked the first few with Sean Connery as James Bond.
Watched the reviews yesterday on TV about the new Bond film, Casino Royale and the new leading man Daniel Craig. Looks promising.
you only live twice,
the living daylights
and licence to kill
are my 3 favs,
though i wasnt overly impressed with timothy daltons bond,
i thought he had some cracking storylines.
Never really could get into Bond. Only one I can remember enjoying was Goldeneye, not sure how much that had to do with the fact that Nintendo game was so good!
Best for me ones in order are:
1. Live and Let Die
2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
3. You Only Live Twice
4. Goldfinger
5. The Spy Who Loved Me
6. License To Kill
7. Octopussy
I generally like them. My favourites are "The World is Not Enough", "Live and Let Die", and "Goldfinger". Some of the others leave me a bit cold, but I really can't work up any enthusiasm for the new one so I doubt I'll be bothering with it.
Always liked. However, I didn't bother paying much attention to the news around Casino Royale, it just sounded disappointing with the lack of Q, Miss Moneypenny and the return of (the great) Judi Dench.
what's not to like? there is something for everybody.
muscular bronzed males. voluptuous scantily clad females. gadgets. cars. weaponry. dodgily named characters. edge of your seat stunts. memorable film scores by the skipload. sex. solid performances by heroes and villains alike. quirky henchmen. dazzling cinematography. unforgettable set pieces. exotic locations. special effects. humour. good versus evil. corny oneliners. double entendre. an inexhaustible supply of limitlessly wealthy physically deformed egomaniacal psychopaths set on world domination.
Love James Bond! Even though some of the Moore films are distinctly mediocre, I still end up liking (most) of them, simply because they're good, far-fetched yarns and pure escapist entertainment. Great franchise. Looking forward to Casino Royale.
