Do you know how climate change could first make local temps colder, then warmer?

Believe it or not guys, when you dump billions of tons of ICE in water (the polar caps which are breaking up as we speak) it can make that water COLDER and temporarily cause cooler temps locally - while the OVERALL temperature of all the water including the ice caps is WARMER than it was.
Then when the ice is gone, then there is NOTHING to keep us colder. Kind of like walking outside in July with a snow cone - when it's gone, it's gone!

You guys tried to get Bush to cancel funding for the Hubble Telescope too - since you didn't like evidence it was presenting that the world was indeed older than 6,000 years.
The fact is, we don't know WHAT THE HELL IS GOING TO HAPPEN when the ice caps disappear, and it's happening now!!!
It is not the time for "business as usual", no pun intended.
And the list of scientists claiming Climate Change is not real, are probably the same exact guys they trotted out to testify before Congress that cigarettes don't kill people (which was lying under oath incidentally) or that "late term abortions are never necessary" (which was also lying under oath.
Conservatives can get some Southern State College graduate SOMEWHERE to say anything they want, anytime.
 
Go back to school please! all the ice in both caps cold melt it would not by volume make any difference in the temperatures. If it was true don't you think all the science lairs would have fudged the numbers to make it work on paper?
 
The argument isn't on whether or not climate change is real... it's on how suddenly urgent a matter it is and why we must pour billions and trillions of dollars into "fixing" it.

The ice caps have melted before and may again, but they always come back. Polar bears are fierce creatures, not cuddly stuffed animals, and they actually know how to swim.

And also climate change can affect local weather patterns, making it warmer in some areas and colder in others. There is one prediction that if it continues to get warmer the North Atlantic Conveyor will 'switch off' and that will plunge much of the UK and parts of N. Europe into ice-age like conditions, whilst the rest of the world gets even hotter.

There was also a report last week saying that the hole in the ozone layer could be responsible for keeping temperatures down because obviously it lets some of the heat out. The report also said that once it had finished repairing itself, temperatures would rise even faster.

No, the ice is already in the water and melting only occurred in the west Antarctic, not the east.

"Sea ice conditions have remained stable in Antarctica generally," Dr Allison said.

The melting of sea ice -- fast ice and pack ice -- does not cause sea levels to rise because the ice is in the water.
 
Yes to climate change. We know it occurs as it always has. Anthropogenic climate change and the reason for proposed liberal taxation has fallen apart. (globally).
 
OH Crap! Sounds like PT Barnum...Al Gore. What ever happens is because of global warming. We have the coldest winter on record last year. Um...er..ah...yeah...that's because of global warming...see...um...ah...the cold...is because of the warming...yeah...see because the polar bears are dying....their bodies are warm...so you get the cold.
They've go so many freakin' Polar bears in Alaska they're being over run.
