Some do well in photography, some go bust. Most just scrape along, building great piles of money during the holiday season that leaks away just staying alive during the winter.
A few make it to the bigtime. Witness Annie Leibowitz's $24 MILLION loan problem last month. She put up the ownership of her pictures of John and Yoko, the pregnant Demi, and others as collateral. Now THAT'S something! On the other hand, Edward Weston only had about $135 in his pocket the day he died, and the biggest celebrity he ever photographed was Diego Rivera. Think about it.
If you're planning on becoming a photographer for the money save yourself a lot of grief and just become a pediatric neurosurgeon instead. It's SOOOOOO much easier!
