Do you know any powerful examples of media censorship?

I'm doing a speech on media censorship and I'm a bit stuck for some really good examples on the influence and/or effects media censorship has globally.Thank you in advance and any extra information is welcome!

I know that on the website RealPissed dot com someone from Russia put a comment about their governement and the governement arrested them and banned members from the website. The website is harmless and is just aimed at letting people express their anger/feelings instead of bottling them up inside.

In which part of the world?

If you live in the UK you should look at the "D Notice" system - that's pretty damned powerful. It's supposed to be for "issues of national security" but in reality, it's more likely to be used to spare the blushes of high ranking politicians.
