I have been riding bikes for several years. I used to do a lot of mountain biking, but over the last two years, I have been riding my mountain bike like it was a road bike. I thought it was about time I got a real one. I've been looking at some Treks.
The first store I went to told me that the 2.1 was probably my best bet since it has a carbon frame and better components. The 2.3 doesn't have all that much better components and it is several hundred more.
The second store I went to told me they don't even carry the 2.1...they prefer putting people only on either the 1.5 or the 2.3
Does anyone have any knowledge they could share with me to give me some better insight?
