i know they will pay me extra $$$ (like all my BAH, COLA and BAS) but i careless about the money if the place would be hell for us.

any input veterans??

Why would you think being stationed in germany is being screwed ?

When else in your life, are you going to have a chance to live in another country ?

Travel in europe is easy, you can easily visit most of the countries in europe during your tour.

Germany is a good assignment,

Would you rather be in the middle of the swamp at Fort Polk ?

Sorry you couldn't serve your time in your home town! the Army is
like they send you to places away from home, BAD ARMY!!
Man up you signed a contract and it did not say, this solider must not
go overseas Right?

i have informants stationed in abmberg, that is in germany, but they like it. but if you don't like it, join the Russian Army. we will give you better benefits, like an AK74, for starters.

Germany is a beautiful country with forests, mountains, loads of magical Castles and the wonderful Reine and Moselle rivers. The Autobahns are fantastic so too is the Black Forest. The people are friendly and the food is fantastic.
You will both love it there.
Just remember that the Germans are a proud people with a long history. They like you to be honest and friendly in return.
The language is fairly easy to learn, the beer and wine is superb.
The currency is the Euro (the only thing that I dislike. You drive on the same side as you do in the States.
Full of charm, great architecture lots of medieval towns and good music.
I don't know anything about Campbell Barracks but knowing the American Forces it will be a decent part of Germany.
You will love it there so will your wife, clothing is of good quality and there is loads of style. Oh yeah - the shopping is fantastic.
