Do you identify with your culture or do you distance yourself from it?

I had different phases. Im an Afghan American...when i was in highschool i distanced myself from it because i was scared of ppls reactions, esp after 9/11. But then i got sick and tired of dealing with the ignorance and being afraid so i just stood up for myself and told people that I proudly accept my culture as a part of me., Especially when i entered college, i fell sooo much in love with my culture and its been 4 years that I am in love with my culture and i found myself through it. My culture is my identity. My culture, my people and my country are a huge part of me and i will never let that go. ever!! And i will defend it and love it forever no matter what. Without a doubt.

Why white washed? See Hispanics & African decent people love to put the white race on such a peda stool it's not even funny. White people are human too & plenty of them also don't like there own culture. I personally don't like my quote on quote black culture. Only because it's a culture created out of complete ignorance I don't assoicate myself with that type of behavior. And no I'm not *white washed* I'm keepin it 100.
