When I first started downloading, I thought uploading would get me in trouble, so I would cut the torrent after I saw it completed.

I don't hit and run any more. I've gone as far as redownloading files off of usenet just to seed to get out of the pink on FTN for torrents that were over a year old and probably only a few hours shy of the informal requirements. There was a streak back then that I was having HD problems and files kept getting corrupted and my Mac was bugging out so I had to reinstall every couple of days. FUBAR'ed HD that had to be replaced (got a new PC anyway).

I've gotten wrongfully banned for that as well. My damn little brother loves to close my torrents on me.

Gess I should get a little brother myself...

I inadvertantly used to when I first started torrenting and didn't know what I was doing... I assumed that as I was downloading then I was sharing and it was ok to stop when I'd gotten what I was after...

We all live and learn though... these days I just leave it running till I've managed to seed back a full share, or if it's been something hard to find then I'll leave it seeding in case anyone else is looking for it
