Do you have your toddler ride on your bike with you? Maybe you can help me?

I am crazy excited about getting a beach cruiser...I am going to get some exercise and have fun at the same time!

I have a 20 month old son who weighs about 28 pounds and a 4 month old daughter that is about 15 pounds. I will be picking up my cruiser from L.A. in 2 months and want to be able to go for rides with one or both of my kiddos. What set up would you suggest?

The trailers scare me a bit, but if it will let me out of the house then I will just have to get used to it. I really like some of these car seat deals I've been seeing. It's a seat that is over the rear wheel or up front at the handle bars. I suppose you wouldn't have 2 seats, one in front and one in back...right? That might look a little funky.

What do you do? What would you suggest for me?

Hi. I just installed an iBert seat that goes on top of the handlebars, and I love it. It's very easy to install, and very easy to balance. My grandson rides in it and he's 19 months. He loves it - way better than having him behind me someplace. Yes, some people put one seat front and one seat back. I've never tried it, but I see no reason it wouldn't work. Whatever you do, please, please, please put all concerned in a helmet - yourself too. Have fun, and be safe!

My husband takes our children out on the bike, seat at rear. They both love it. We didn't end up getting one with a front seat but thought about it at the time.

My only concern is that at 4 months your daughter may still be a bit small. Drs said both my children had very strong nexk muscles as they are able to hold their heads up from birth, but we didn't put them on the bike until 8 months as they are better able to hold their entire self up. And of course the helmets are a must.
