Do you have to own a Harley Davidson to be a member of ABATE?

I'm asking because there's an ABATE get together next weeked in my local area and If I show up on one of my rice burner bikes and ask to join ABATE, won't they attack me with chains?
Jenna, Thank Your for that information, but I already have a motorcycle license and I consider myself a professional motorcycle rider, (better than most riders)
What advantage is it for me to join ABATE?
Scott, I am a big believer in helmet laws, I live in PA and I want the helmet laws to come back, and I want everybody to wear a full face helmet (no skull caps) with a neck brace.
I wouldn't be much welcome as a ABATE Member with my views?
I was just thinking about myself, what advantage is it for me to join ABATE other than picking up dates?

No.

However I will ask you this: How much do you get paid to "ride" your motorcycle? Since you say your a professional, that means you get money for doing that thing.

Do you ever get the feeling that you should really think about what comes out of your mouth, or through your fingers on YA? You really come across as a total dumba$$. Think about it.

Go to an ABATE meeting? Why bother?

They are fighting helmet laws while the EPA and CARB are putting catalytic converters and crap on our bikes,
instead of fighting helmets they need to fight to have our bikes run on gasoline not alcohol, fight any regulation about what kind of fuel we can burn, and emission regulations for bikes, that is what we need to keep riding, not a fight against helmets.

Nobody in their right mind would argue against wearing a helmet.

You only have to see ONE helmet that somebody had on their head during an accident to beleive in helmets.

They won't beat you for riding a rice burner If you get beat with chains it will be because of the crap that comes out of your mouth every time you open it.I don't know why you feel the need to be such an obnoxious and offensive person but it really must suck to be you.And by the way ABATE could care less what you ride. They are not affiliated with any brand of motorcycle.

You know better Bart. ABATE. Here in Wisconsin, we haven't bowed down to the PC mavin's. Stands for what it originally did, A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments. For over 35 years our goals have have stay the same. Freedom for everyone to ride what you like, the way you like, safely. We don't care what you ride, as long as you ride, in a safe responsible manor.

That being said, Bart. You don't, even have to own a bike to join ABATE. And would not attack anyone, who wants to join ABATE. But ABATE is full of MEN and WOMEN, not little boys and girls. Who will not, hesitate to put a screw up in his place.

The advantage of joining ABATE, how about freedom, to ride what you like when you like. If you value that freedom, joining ABATE is a no brainier. Every day, someone is out there, trying to take away your freedom to ride. Yes, I do mean that, baning motorcycles. The excuse is as always, that motorcycles are just to dangerous. Or that we are a burden on society.

Never mind the truth, just do what we tell you to do. The safetycrats, use some kind of new math. Ok, so it's not new, they have been doing it for years. To prove just how dangerous motorcycles are. ABATE is on the front line, disputing these so called facts. History has shown what happens, when you don't fight for your rights. You loose them.

No.... a matter of fact I don't know about where you live but the abate in my town has a class you can take to learn to ride a motorcycle. Cost is $25 or $35... after the class you either get reimbursed partially, it can be donated to abate, or you can let them keep it and become a member. After the class you can take the test for a permit then present your certificate from the class and they will hand you a license to drive a motorcycle. Anyways.... you don't need any kind of bike to me a member of ABATE.

LOL... I just read your additional info.... ABATE isn't about Harleys it's about the safety of bikers. (American bikers aimed towards education) Sure some of the older die hard Harley fans may look down on you for your bike but your still out there riding it and they are going to have respect for that.
