I'm not going to a horse camp I was just wondering if you do? If you do what type of things do you need to know?

It really depends on the camp. Just make sure you check and see if they offer camps/classes for beginners. If it's for advanced riders only, don't go, but most camps have classes for riders of all levels. The point of the beginner camps is for you to learn, not to come in as an expert :).

Lol you don't need to know anything. All you need to do is know how to follow directions!

I work at a horse camp and we get tons of beginners. It's perfectly ok to know nothing, you just need to follow directions. The kids we get learn everything they need to know with us- if they don't know something, we teach them! That's the point of a horse camp- to learn.

Usually there are different levels of horse camps. The one that i go to has the levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced, and beginner teen etc. I went in teh intermediate my first time and there were people there who knew nothing about horses. Im sure you should go in with some knowledge, like a horses emotions (when its mad, frustrated spooked etc) but other than that you (or whoever) should be fine.

It depends on the type of camp. There are some very expensive camps where you bring your own horse and you learn. Most horse camps will have rider classes for all ages, from beginners to advanced. So, no, you don't have to know anything about horses to go to horse camp. If they are a good camp, they will teach you what you need to know.
