Do you have to have the data plan with a blackberry with verizon wireless?

K i know you have to have a data plan with a blackberry with verizon wireless to get it but can you cancel after awhile or do you need it to have it work?
I'm looking at getting the Blackberry Tour and the new Blackberry Curve. Do you know about those ones?

Yes you have to keep the data plan, otherwise your Blackberry will not work. At Verizon they don't give you the option to cancel your data plan, and if you try they won't let you and will explain to you that your device simply will not work without it.

idk about the other blackberrys but the storm u definetly do and no u cant cancel it the phone wont work w/o it its gay
